Il gruppo di ricerca COMICS è al fianco degli studenti, dei docenti e del personale tecnico dell'Università italiana nella protesta contro il Decreto 133. Tagliare fondi all'Università ed alla Ricerca è:

1) Un inaccettabile attacco all'Università pubblica così come definita nella nostra Costituzione

2) Un feroce colpo al ruolo fondamentale di crescita e di sviluppo culturale nonchè di affermazione professionale per gli studenti, specie per quelli appartenenti agli strati più deboli della Società italiana

3) Una miope ristrutturazione della capacità del Sistema Paese nel rispondere alle sfide imposte dalla globalizzazione dei mercati attraverso l'annullamento della capacità di trasferimento tecnolgico dalla ricerca accademica al mondo produttivo ed in particolare alle piccole e medie imprese

The COMICS research group is currently composed of 6 full time academics and about 25 researchers, PhD and Master students. The group leader is Prof. Giorgio Ventre.

COMICS members carry out their research activities in the CAN-LAB, and since 2000, in a new research laboratory, created in Napoli by the Italian University Consortium for Computer Science and Engineering (CINI).

The COMICS research unit is involved in several research projects and initiatives both national and international; our activities are usually developed within cooperative research projects, funded by the European Commission, the Italian Ministry for Research (MURST), the Italian National Research Council (CNR), the Government of the Campania Region and other funding agencies.

We are also active in the area of consultancy and technological transfer towards Industry and in particular small and medium enterprises. This is done via the direct participation to the activities of CRIAI, a research spin-off of the University of Napoli Federico II in the area of Information and Communication Technologies.

COMICS has also several partnerships ongoing with private companies and organizations in the areas of vocational and professional training, technological transfer, and R&D projects.
